What is the difference between Ostrich feather Plumes vs. Drabs?
Ostrich Feather Plumes
Ostrich wing plumes are generally very large and are the fullest looking ostrich feathers used in centerpieces. Their quills are about as thick as a pencil and the fibers can get up to about 8-10" in length. Ostrich wing plumes are the only ostrich feathers that have a droopy tip. We carry them in 20-25" sizes.
Ostrich Feather Drabs
Ostrich feather drabs are generally used as a substitute for Ostrich plumes. Ostrich drabs may look similar to ostrich plumes, but the fibers are shorter and thinner and so are the quills. The drab tips also don't droop the way a plume does. They come in approximately a 13-17” size range.
If you need a very plush and full look to your centerpieces, we highly recommend sticking with the Ostrich wing plumes.
